SEND

At our nursery, we believe that every child is unique, and every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.  We are proud of our inclusive setting where children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are supported with warmth, care and expertise.

We are committed to creating a space where all children feel welcome, valued and supported.  Our environment is carefully planned to be accessible, calm and adaptable to individual needs, helping children feel safe, confident and ready to learn. We have a SEND hub in our setting, Poppy Room, this room is also our smaller classroom space for children who require extra support and interventions.

Our dedicated and experienced team works closely with families to identify any additional needs as early as possible.  We monitor development closely and ensure any concerns are addressed promptly and sensitively.  For children who require extra support, we create Individual Learning or Support plans. These plans are developed with parents and where appropriate, external professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists or local SEND specialists.

Our staff receive regular training in supporting children with a range of additional needs, including, Autism, Speech and Language delay, Sensory Processing difficulties, Down Syndrome and many more.  We have a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) and SENDCo support who lead and oversee all SEND provision within the setting.
